The Ownership feature allows you to define multiple Owners in the Learning Management System, to which you can assign Courses and/or Paths in your Library. Once the Ownership feature is set up, most automated email communications sent to end-users about those Courses, Paths, or Events, will automatically come “From” the relevant Owner (Sender). Each Owner can have a different email Signature and each report can be filtered by Owner.

Courses and Paths in the Library can be “Owned” by various departments, i.e., Human Resources, Learning & Development, Professional Development, etc. The automated email notifications sent from the LMS will be sent “From” the Owner. For example, the end-users will receive Outlook Appointments from HR for Events where the HR is the “Owner” and Outlook Appointments from Learning & Development for Paths where Learning & Development is the “Owner”.

A huge benefit to those of you who have increased privileges to run reports, is that you will be able to report on Courses and Paths “owned” by the relevant department. It also ensures that you are communicating with users in the best possible way, ensuring all correspondence is coming from the relevant department.
