Getting Started

Intellek Create is a web-based eLearning authoring tool, which allows all authors access to the same defaults and content files (i.e., eLearning Lessons, practice exercises, and/or Assessments) created within an organization. Authors will be provided with a link to the sign-in page, along with your Username and Password credentials.

Intellek Create Sign in

1.Open your preferred browser (i.e., Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge).

2.Click the link to Intellek Create as provided.

3.When the Sign in page displays, enter your Username and Password credentials.

4.Click the SIGN IN button.

After clicking the SIGN IN button the first time, be patient! A rotating circle will display while confirming your credentials. Once the Sign in Successful message displays, the Content Library page will display.

Navigating Intellek Create

The Navigation bar is the dark blue bar at the top of the web page, and is visible from all pages within Intellek Create. The Content Editor will include additional icons (see the Content Editor Navigation bar topic).

The Navigation Bar

The Navigation bar displays at the top of the window. The current page displays to the right of the Menu icon. Using the graphic as reference, the Content Library is the current page, and the numbered items below correspond to the graphic.

1.Menu icon (aka "hamburger icon"). Click the Menu icon to access all areas of Intellek Create. (See The Intellek Create Menu subtopic.)

2.Multi-Publish Content icon. The Publish Content icon provides the ability to publish one or more content files simultaneously. The Multi-Publish Content icon is only accessible on the Content Library page. (See the Publishing topic.)

3.User Settings (person) icon. Click the User Settings icon to set or change your User Profile or Logout of Intellek Create. (See the User Settings subtopic.)

4.Help icon. Click the Help icon to display Intellek Create Help content.

The Intellek Create Menu

The Menu icon on the Navigation bar provides access to all Intellek Create pages. The Menu icon is always accessible as the first icon on the Navigation bar.

1.Click the Menu icon to display the Menu panel.

The Navigation bar will slide to the right to accommodate the Menu panel.

2.Click the pin at the top of the Menu panel to retain access to the panel as you switch pages or work on a content file.

•If the pin is not active, changing to another Intellek Create page will automatically collapse the Menu panel.

•As long as the Menu panel is pinned, the panel will stay visible until either:

oThe pin icon is clicked (turned off).

oThe Menu icon is clicked.

oRefreshing the Intellek Create browser tab (pressing F5 or clicking the browser Refresh icon).

oThe Intellek Create tab is closed or logged out.

User Settings

The User Settings (person) icon provides access to User Settings and the Logout option. This option may be temporarily disabled.

1.Click the User Settings icon on the Navigation bar.

2.Select User Settings (cog).

3.In the Edit User dialog box:

•If necessary, enter or change the Forename entry to your preferred first name.

•If necessary, enter or change the Surname entry to your preferred last name.

•Click the Language arrow to select your preferred language. Currently, the choices are en (English) or fr (French).

4.Click the SAVE button.

Important!

Clicking outside the Edit User dialog box before clicking the SAVE button will close the dialog box WITHOUT saving any changes, in effect, canceling any and all changes!

Content Library (Main Page)

The Content Library is the main page of Intellek Create. Content files are created and managed from this page. The screen elements are pictured and described below.

Content Library Buttons and Panels

1.Create New Content button. Click the Create New Content button to start a new content file. (See the Creating Content topic.)

2.Defaults button. Click the Defaults button to set the defaults for new content files. (See the Setting Content Defaults topic.)

3.Recently Modified panel. This area contains access to the five (5) most recently created or edited content files by you. (See the Content Cards subtopic.)

4.Favorites panel. Contains content files tagged as a Favorite of yours. (See the Content Cards subtopic.)

5.Personal Content Files panel. Contains all content files created, edited, and saved by you. (See the Content Cards subtopic.)

6.Company Content Files panel. Contains all content files created, edited, and saved by any Intellek Create author within your organization.

7.Expand/Collapse panel. The arrow at the far right of a panel will expand or collapse the panel contents.

By default, all panels are collapsed.

Content Cards

Content files are displayed in the Content Library panels as "cards." Displaying content files in this manner allows you to perform several different functions without having to open the content file. The functions available on content cards are pictured and described below.

1.Content Title. (See the Creating Content topic.)

2.Mark as Favorite (heart) icon. Click the Mark as Favorite icon to add the content file to the Favorites panel in the Content Library. (See the Content Library Buttons and Panels sub-topic.)

3.Clone Content (duplicate page) icon. Click the Clone Content icon to create a copy of the content file that can be re-purposed. (See the Creating Content topic.)

4.Edit Content (pencil) icon. Click the Edit Content icon to open the content file into the Content Editor. (See the Creating Content topic.)

5.Preview Content (VCR play button) icon. Click the Preview Content icon to preview how the content will display to users. (See the Previewing Content topic.)

6.Delete Content (trash can) icon. Click the Delete Content icon to delete the content file. (See the Deleting Content Files topic.)
